Los Angeles Trip - Day 4 - The Oldest Surviving McDonald's, The Grove, and & Leaving LA

Thursday, January 23, 2014

Today we will be visiting several areas around the Los Angeles area (oldest surviving McDonald's, The Grove, The Beverly Center) before leaving and heading back home.  Follow along!

Last view from the hotel

First up this morning we are heading to Downey, California to visit the world's oldest surviving McDonald's.  It was actually the second McDonald's to open but the first one is no longer surviving. This McDonald's was, though, the first McDonald's to feature arches and the neon Speedee sign. The walk-up McDonald's is still operating.  One very neat aspect of this location is the museum located on the property.

Los Angeles may be my favorite city.  The allure, the history, the fame, the weather, the sights...it is incredible!
