Cincinnati Walking Tour

Tuesday, June 14, 2016

The following day we took a tour of Cincinnati.  This was an incredible walking tour!

Our first stop on the tour was a building where Annie Oakley had performed.  Our guide shared some very interesting stories about her time here and other performers who had performed similar acts in this same building.

O'Smileys Dolls & Collectibles

Monday, June 13, 2016

We made a pit stop at O'Smiley's Dolls and Collectibles in Cincinnati.  We love to explore old toy stores.  It just brings back memories of childhood!  This was a very small store but they definitely packed in a lot of stuff!  They have a lot of vintage Barbies but also plenty of other toys, as well.

American Sign Museum

Sunday, June 12, 2016

Another stop before our evening event in Cincinnati was the American Sign Museum.  This was such a cool place!  The American Sign Museum preserves and collects signs.  The signs are displayed very well, and the collection is incredibly neat to explore.

William Howard Taft National Historic Site

Saturday, June 11, 2016

We had plans to attend an evening event in Cincinnati, Ohio, so we drove up early to explore some sites in the city.

Our first stop was the William Howard Taft National Historic Site.  Our 27th President, Taft served from 1909-1913.  Located in Cincinnati is his childhood home.  In 1854, he was born in this house and lived there until he went to college in 1874.

Our tour was a guided a tour with a park ranger.  We were the only people on the tour, so it was a little awkward but quite informative.

Exploring Opryland Hotel

Sunday, June 5, 2016

Gaylord Opryland Hotel in Nashville, Tennessee is probably the most famous hotel in Nashville.  The reason is it is located next to The Grand Ole Opry and formerly Opryland Theme Park.  When the theme park was still around, there were many advertisements offering vacation packages to the park, Grand Ole Opry, and hotel.  In the late 90s, the theme park was closed and torn down.  It has since been replaced with a cookie-cutter mall.  The Opryland Hotel is still an amazing hotel, though, and a wonderful place to just simply walk around for hours.  There's so much to see and do.
