Exploring the Anne Frank House & Other Amsterdam Locations

Tuesday, November 22, 2016

Today we will be visiting the Anne Frank House, taking a canal cruise, and visiting an antique store! I can't wait to explore more of Amsterdam!

Waiting on the ferry to the city

The line to get into the Anne Frank House.

I highly recommend purchasing your tickets online.  We did this and once it was our time, we simply walked right inside.  The line gets quite long.

The Anne Frank House Museum does not allow photography so I do not have any pictures to share. It was an amazing museum though.  I was so impressed with the artifacts they had on display - markings and pictures on the wall, the actual bookcase hiding the stairway, Anne's diary, etc.  It was such a touching and amazing place to visit.  I highly recommend going.

We stopped at The Pancake Bakery, a small restaurant, for breakfast.

Delicious food

We spotted a grocery along our route and went inside to explore.

We took an Amsterdam Canal Cruise.  I do not remember the name of the company we went with, but I loved this cruise!  The boat was nice, and we were given headphones to listen to an audio tour. The audio tour was very informative and entertaining.

After the canal cruise, we went to The Outback, a restaurant in Amsterdam.  After a LONG period of time of not being waited on, we got up and left.  This pizza restaurant was located in the same area, so we went there instead.  We were waited on quickly there, and the food was delicious!

The last thing on our list tonight is to visit the Red Light Secrets Museum.  This museum tells you about how the district works and includes a former Red Light room.  The museum was interesting and I learned some facts about The District.  My favorite exhibit was about items customers leave behind.  If you are looking for something interesting to do, I would suggest the museum.

Goodnight from Amsterdam!  Amsterdam is one of my favorite cities!  It has such an interesting history, beautiful scenery, and plenty to do.
