Spending the New Year at Myrtle Beach

Saturday, January 3, 2015

Fort Bragg

The Beach!

The ocean was across the road and in front of a row of houses.

We went to Logan's for dinner.  It was terrible.

Fireworks

The next morning.  Sunrise at North Myrtle Beach.

After lunch, we went to Coastal Grand Mall.

The mall.

Next, we headed to Pirate's Voyage to visit with the animals.

The sidewalks at the house.

After cleaning up, we headed to Bonefish for dinner.  It was my first time visiting.  I'm not a seafood fan and wasn't sure about going.  I ended up getting a rice and chicken dish though, and it was quite good.

After dinner, we headed to the Grand Strand in Myrtle Beach so I could visit my favorite tourist shop of all-time, Gay Dolphin.  Sadly, they were closed.  We, instead, checked out the Gay Dolphin Arcade.  The Pac Man Air Hockey game was so much fun!

Pac Man Smash was a new take on Air Hockey.  It was SO much fun!

I decided to stop by Myrtle Beach Fries and get fries!  As a kid, my dad would always buy them and bring them to the beach for lunch.  They come in a cup, and we would put ketchup over the fries.

Myrtle Beach Fries!
Sadly, they weren't as good as I remember.

We headed to the ice cream shop, and, to my surprise, they had a variation of Rainbow Vanilla, my favorite ice cream of all-time.  It was called Super Cow.  I had to get some!

We stopped by Zaxby's for lunch.

Then, we went to Tanger Outlet Mall.

Then, we went back to Myrtle Beach to visit the Grand Strand.  We did this so I could go to the Gay Dolphin, which was open this time.  I'm the only one who enjoys Gay Dolphin.

We headed back next door for some more ice cream!

We decided to walk along the Boardwalk while we ate our ice cream.

How I miss the Pavillion.

Then, it was time to go play some mini golf!

We went to Mt. Alanticus Miniature Golf.

Before heading back to the house, we stopped by Chili's for dinner.

The next morning, it was time to head home.

On the way home, we stopped at several antique stores.  First, was the Countryside Collectibles & Antique Mall in Siler City, NC.  This was a neat little shop.

Old phone books

This building seemed to have once been a grocery store.

I loved this Publishers Clearing House Prize Patrol van!

They also had an area set up for auctions.

Next up was the Antique Marketplace in Greensboro, NC.

I love all of the old peddler cars hanging from the ceiling.

The Beverly Hillbillies Puzzle

You gotta' love a slush poster.

Check out this old Walgreens photo packet.  This is what people would receive after having pictures developed at Walgreens.  Too cool!

These old bells remind me of the ones we would use in music class in elementary school.  They each played a different note.

We also came across several vintage photo albums.  The photo albums contained photos from a family's oversea adventures.

While at Sheetz, we saw there was a new Goodwill nearby.  We went in to check it out.  They didn't have much.
