Visiting Rosenborg Castle and Taking a Canal Cruise

Thursday, March 23, 2017

Today we are visiting Rosenborg Castle in Copenhagen.  This castle was once used as a royal residence.

The castle is also home to the Royal Collections.  Included in the collection are the Crown Jewels.

The Royal Guards march from here to Amalienborg Palace for The Changing of the Guard.

For lunch, we visited Torvehallerne, a food market in Copenhagen.  This was a neat little market spread out over a few buildings.

Next, we walked through Christiana.  This is a special neighborhood in Copenhagen where they are allowed to come up with their own society rules.  I walked in and right back out.  It just wasn't my cup of tea.

We decided to head by to Nyhavn and take a canal cruise around the city.

The canal cruise was okay but I wouldn't do it again.  The canal cruise we took in Amsterdam was much, much better.  If you have visited Amsterdam and taken a canal cruise there, I would skip Copenhagen's cruise.

Goodnight from Copenhagen!
