Today we took a tour of Waverly Hill Sanatarium.  It is located in Louisville, Kentucky and was originally created to house tuberculosis patients.  It has been closed for many years, and the current owners want to eventually turn it into a hotel.  Based on what I saw during our tour, I think the hotel is a long ways off, if it ever happens.  

I booked our two-hour, daytime, historical tour online.  Our tour was to start at 2:00.  The ticket info said to arrive by 1:45.  We got there a little early and were told to wait at the gate; someone would come down to let us all in soon.  More cars continued to arrive, with everyone just sitting outside the gate.  Eventually, people got out of their cars and congregated near the gate.

Good morning from Milan!  This is our second day in the city.  We were quite tired yesterday so we only explored a little.  Today we are well-rested and ready for a full day of exploration!

Touring Toronto's Elgin and Winter Garden Theatres

Tonight we are heading back to Downtown Toronto for a tour of the Elgin and Winter Garden Theatres.  These theatres are the last remaining Edwardian stacked theatres in the world.  The theatres were built in 1913.  Both theatres were home to different acts.  In 1928, the Winter Garden Theatre closed, leaving many artifacts inside.  Many years later, these items were discovered and the theatre was restored.  They give tours on Thursday nights.  You do not need to register beforehand; you simply pay at the door.

Cincinnati Walking Tour

The following day we took a tour of Cincinnati.  This was an incredible walking tour!

Our first stop on the tour was a building where Annie Oakley had performed.  Our guide shared some very interesting stories about her time here and other performers who had performed similar acts in this same building.

Neon Boneyard

This morning we have a guided tour of the Neon Boneyard.  The Neon Boneyard is a museum of vintage Vegas neon signs.

Helen Keller's Birthplace, Ivy Green, is located in Tuscumbia, Alabama. We recently took a day-trip down to explore!  There is an admission cost, and at the beginning of the tour, a guide will give you some background information.  Then, you are able to explore the home and grounds on your own.
