Last night we checked into our hotel near Jokulsarlon. The view from our window is gorgeous!

Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon. One of the most breathtaking places I have ever seen.

Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon was absolutely amazing! No visit to Iceland is complete without going. You absolutely can not miss seeing the lagoon.
The glacier hike was interesting. After we checked in with the tour company, we were fitted for ice spikes. Then, we boarded a bus and took a drive to the glacier area. Then, we had to hike several miles just to get to the foot of the glacier. This hike involved wooden "bridges" and loose gravel on hills. After we got to the bottom of the glacier, we stopped to put the spikes on our shoes. When we walked up the glacier, we were taught to "walk like a cowboy" as this helps keep your balance. The hike to the glacier and the actual hike up the glacier would be quite strenuous for those who are out of shape and not used to doing this sort of activity.
Today was another fabulous day exploring beautiful Iceland!
