Today we left Vienna, Austria and travelled to Bratislava, Slovakia. I was so excited to see this country that I feel many do not visit or know much about.
Leaving Vienna
Nearing the Slovakian Border
There it is, the Slovakian Border!
The view from our hotel, Hilton Doubletree
Exploring Bratislava. These buses are available to ride in throughout the city.
Bratislava Castle
Views from the castle walls
You can visit the castle and tour the inside. There is a museum inside as well. After visiting, I would recommend skipping this castle. The castle was destroyed years ago and has been rebuilt in recent years. There really isn't anything original left. The museum on Slovakian history takes up basically the whole castle. The museum is interesting and placards are also in English, but as an outsider, the artifacts did not mean as much to me as they would a native. I also found some of the museum staff to be quite rude. One employee literally followed us through her exhibit area.
A chapel
The museum
Walking the streets of Bratislava
Visiting a grocery store
This is the old city wall.
Visiting the UFO Tower
View from the UFO Tower. I much preferred this view of Bratislava over the view from the castle.
Visiting a mall
I love the Flying Tiger store! It's always one of my favorite stores to visit in Europe.
Trying the Cappuccino Vienetta Ice Cream Cake...a little messy but very good!
Nighttime views from the hotel
Bratislava has been an interesting city to explore. My favorite part of the city has just been walking around and exploring the town.
